Douglas College MTD Portfolio Show

The MTD portfolio show at Douglas College is an exhibition where students in the final semester of the Music Technology Diploma program have the opportunity to show off their skills and be seen in the industry.My project was originally planned to be an EP of 3-4 tracks with the added gimmick that I would be making/fixing/modding some of the gear that I would be using to produce the record. (The gear was to include some instruments, a tube mic preamp, one or two telephone microphones, and a couple other things.)I decided to work on the side projects first, and once I had finished those, I moved on to the EP. Everything was going smoothly until one of my friends suggested that I should make more telephone microphones to sell at the portfolio show, since they turned out so well. Right away, I knew that my EP had to wait. Two weeks of grueling design, prototyping, and manufacturing work later, here they are, my almost-commercially-viable low-noise switchable dynamic/carbon telephone microphones, built from 1970s telephone handsets:

All my models generally cost either $150 or $200, depending on part condition and rarity, and I can take custom orders at no extra cost if you have a specific surface finish, colour, or sound in mind.
